Position Summary:

The Tax Manager will work in a fast-paced environment as part of a multidisciplinary team. The Tax Manager will work in all tax areas important to the company including Federal, multi-state consolidated returns, international tax, provision preparation and tax planning. This position will report to the Tax Director.

  • Oversees and plans the work of the Sr. Corporate Tax Accountant(s) and Corporate Tax Accountants.
  • Oversees and is responsible for tax reconciliations, monthly journal entries, fixed assets, tax notices and correspondence, consultation on certain Form 1099 filings and interaction with payroll department on withholding and wage items.
  • Manages the software implementation process and updates for all tax related items.
  • Responsible for creating and ongoing generation of tax reports from the financial software programs.
  • Responsible for monitoring software outputs to ensure compliance with internal controls for tax.
  • Prepares or assists with quarterly and annual tax calculations for corporate and facilities.
  • Participate in the preparation of the quarterly and annual worldwide income tax provision calculation (ASC 740).
  • Accumulating and preparing data and coordinating with outside vendors to prepare returns as required by federal, state and local jurisdictions. Or, if applicable, coordinates tax provision software vendors.
  • Supports the tax audit process.
  • Researches tax issues and respond to notices from various taxing authorities.
  • Serves as a resource to the facilities for resolving local tax concerns such as sales and property taxes.
  • Maintains continuous awareness of the latest developments, best practices and trends in the functional areas of responsibility.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of tax accounting experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Finance, or related field.

• CPA preferred.

• Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office; especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Knowledge of office administration procedures with the ability to operate most standard office equipment.
