Overview

System Engineer II

The System Engineer II will work directly with Local Management and Corporate IT to manage a Windows Active Directory in a unified security environment. Provide Email administration, establish backup standards for the facility servers and address disaster recovery design and implementation. Fully responsible for the entire life cycle of the local client machines.

Our System Engineer II will fully understand the business value of the successful implementation of hospital procedures and policies. They will develop and clearly communicate various solutions to the different teams through conference calls. Document all deliverables and manage expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Deploy new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems
  • Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
  • Configure, support, and administer Active Directory and Windows Server technologies.
  • Assist in the Installation, configuration, and implementation of the local network.
  • Maintain patch deployment to both workstations and servers.
  • Maintain Disaster Recovery documentation.
  • Responsible for maintenance of server hardware and software within SLA’s.
  • Responsible for routine daily backups.
  • Performs special projects or tasks as assigned.
  • Handle support calls.

Job Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Information Technology or equivalent work experience
  • At least Microsoft or Datacenter equivalent experience required.
  • 2+ years working experience with Microsoft Windows XP\Windows 7, Windows 2003, 2008, 2012, Active Directory and Exchange 2007/2010 configuration and administration. 
  • At least 1 year of experience with virtualization technologies.
  • Previous experience with shared storage administration strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and SOX data privacy practices and laws. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills.
  • Strong ability to work independently or in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong Customer Service Skills.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Solid grounding in core enterprise applications, including Email, Database, Faxing, Networking.
  • Strong understanding of information processing principles and practices.
  • Excellent architecture and technical support documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze and resolve problems and be assertive in presenting solutions.
  • Ability to organize and set priorities according to situational demands and work effectively under stress and with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated skill in providing a high level of customer satisfaction to end-users.
