Acadia Healthcare has a new opportunity for a Staff Accoutnant in Carlsbad, Ca.

The Staff Accountant is responsible for overseeing the daily and monthly functions of Acadia’s Comprehensive Treatment Centers nationwide. Responsible for general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger accounts and financial statements, such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements and capital expenditure schedules.  Prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance within accepted accounting policies and principles.

  • Prepares and maintains financial records: General Ledger, Trial Balance, Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Cash Flows, and Balance Sheet Schedules.
  • Reconciles balance sheet accounts to program data.
  • Prepares financial statements posting batches
  • Performs accounting research and perform analysis.
  • Reconciles balance sheet accounts to program data.
  • Reviews outgoing payroll.
  • Creates monthly Journal entries from information provided by programs.
  • Analyzes trial balance on a monthly basis and prepares summary reports.
  • Analyzes monthly financial statements.
  • Reconciles bank statements.
  • Updates balance sheet schedules.
  • Updates fixed asset modules as necessary.
  • Prepares depreciation reports from fixed asset module.
  • Reviews general ledger posting interface from fixed asset system.
  • Assists in orienting, training and assigning and reviewing work of others.

Job Requirements

•BS degree in accounting or equivalent from an accredited university

•At least Two to Five Years of progressively increasing responsibility and experience

•Experience in monthly close, preparation of financial statements

•Prior experience with Medhost software or similar

•Must be very proficient in MS Excel

•Advanced level PC skills and knowledge of Word/ Outlook required

•Strong written and verbal communication skills.

•Work independently or as part of a team

• Ability to handle multiple time-sensitive priorities.
