Job Description

This position is a pivotal part of the patient care team. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Accurately process physician orders
  • Performs initial nursing assessment as well as ongoing assessments
  • Provides patient education on laboratory testing, medication, treatment and other areas as appropriate
  • Performs venipuncture as necessary
  • Administers medications as ordered
  • Responsible for monitoring LPNs as required
  • Collaborates with medical and clinical staff to provide excellent patient care

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing school
  • Associate's degree in Nursing
  • Valid RN licesese to practice in NC
  • Ability to work with male and female adults patients (18+) with substance abuse/mental health disorders
  • CPI and CPR certified (offered at hospital)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Knowledge of chemical dependency and mental health disorder treatment

 Preferred:

  • Bachelor degree in Nursing
  • Current CARN certification
  • Experience working with chemical dependency and mental health disorder treatment
  • Knowledge of 12 step recovery programs
