Job Description

Lakeland Behavioral Health System has been a leading treatment center for 30+ years serving children, adolescents & older adults struggling with a mental health disorder. Lakeland Behavioral Health System provides focused, gender-specific care to ensure that those that have been struggling with mental health disorders receive the guidance and support that they need to achieve long-term recovery.

This position requires a Registered Nurse with excellent communication and organization skills to provide and coordinate care by assessing physical and behavioral health needs of patient, develop and implement nursing care plans, maintain medical records and educate patients and their families about various physical and behavioral health conditions.

Other responsibilities include:

*  Ensure physician orders are legible if taken verbally and transcribed appropriately per policy and procedure.

*  Demonstrate knowledge and utilization of universal precautions in providing direct patient care.

*  Accurately administer medications and document accurate count of controlled substance medication administration on required documents.

*  Ensure admission and discharges are processed efficiently and accurately as directed 

*  Provide direction or coordinate the activities of the unit as directed.

*  Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients/residents, visitors, coworkers and others involved in patient treatment in an effective manner
