OVERVIEW/SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Sierra Tucson Nursing Department is focused on providing evidence-based, safe and culturally sensitive care to our patients, residents and their families. The Registered Nurse (RN) is a vital and professional member of the team and is expected to be patient care centered and customer service oriented. The RN will be responsible for delivery of care in our inpatient behavioral health and residential levels of care. Registered Nurses will provide direct care to their patients, which include facilitating social and emotional needs, monitoring detox and physical complaints, supervising medication schedules and evaluating patient progress. RN’s are responsible for maintaining a safe environment at Sierra Tucson by providing social support and offering encouragement to take advantage of opportunities such as support groups, social activities and other therapeutic measures. The RN will be a teamwork focused member who will work across various departments including Nursing, Medical, Pharmacy, Integrative Services, Clinical, Psychology and Administration. Excellent communication, documentation and interpersonal skills are required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION & LICENSE REQUIRED:

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, required.

     Bachelors of Science in Nursing-BSN; preferred.

     Associates Degree of Nursing ADN, required.

LICENSURE:

Licensed and currently registered as a Registered Nurse in the State of Arizona.

 

EXPERIENCE & CORE COMPETENCIES:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in similar position in hospital, inpatient behavioral health or psychiatric facility, preferred.
  • Experience in substance use or mental health, preferred.
  • Must possess excellent critical thinking, communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to maintain complete confidentiality in all patient/program matters, in accordance with facility policies.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to the job, the department, and external regulating bodies or obtain approval for exception.
