Job Description

Duffy’s Napa Valley Rehab is growing and seeking to immediately hire an Independent Contractor, Physician’s Assistant. Duffy’s is located in Calistoga in the beautiful Napa Valley, Duffy’s has been treating adults with drug and alcohol addiction for 50 years. Considered a leader in the field of drug and alcohol treatment, our compassionate and caring program provides our guests with the newest advances in addiction.

Summary:  Physician Assistants are responsible for medical evaluations and treatment of guests (patients) at Duffy’s Napa Valley Rehab.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitoner

Prior Experience:

Minimum of 2 years’ experience. Preference given to experience in Substance abuse field.

Licensure:

  • Current California License
  • Current DEA License
  • Current CPR certification
  •  

Essential Functions:

  • Perform routine comprehensive History and Physical exams.
  • Diagnose and treat routine medical problems.
  • Manage routine medical detoxification.
  • Seek consultation and/or refer patient for complex medical/psychiatric problems.
  • Interpret labs and order appropriate interventions.
  • Other functions as requests by Medical Director.
  • Maintain a positive therapeutic relationship with patients at all times.
  • Consistently aware of each patients interpersonal strengths, weaknesses as it may impact upon the doctor-patient relationship.
  • Communicate and cooperate with all members of the patients’ treatment team and staff.
  • Receptive to confrontations and feedback from staff and patients and responds in a professional manner.
  • Considers patient welfare and satisfaction in all clinical decisions.
  • Demonstrates awareness and respect for patient boundaries.
  • Supports philosophy and mission of Duffy’s Napa Valley Rehab.
  • Attends at least 75% of Clinical meetings.
  • Performs other work related duties as assigned.

  • Adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to the job, department, and external regulating bodies or obtain approval for exception.
