Psychiatric patients require care from specialty-trained professionals, in a highly-specialized, and quality-focused environment. Our team at Discovery House of Providence Comprehensive Treatment Center  is seeking to add a like-minded Advanced Practitioner to their diverse and dynamic team.

Job Requirements

  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant able to practice in the state of RI
  • Advanced nursing knowledge and clinical skills through an appropriate educational program
  • Minimum of 1 your of experience as a practicing nurse practitioner
  • DEA License 
  • Willingness and ability to get X-Waiver
  • Ability to work early hours to meet the needs of our clients
  • Experience in addiction/psychiatric treatment preferred

This location offers Medication Assisted Treatment including Methadone and Buprenorphine. Discovery House of Providence Comprehensive Treatment Center is an Opioid Health Home offering individual and group counseling for clients with opioid use disorder.

Responsibilities
  • Makes a comprehensive physical assessment of patients consistent with training and education;
  • Performs physical examinations on patients admitted for medication maintenance;
  • Ensures physician medication orders are being followed. Refers patients to appropriate physicians and consults with the supervising physician;
  • Evaluates patient care, adjusting the plan of care based on outcomes, diagnostic test results, and patient feedback;
  • Provides patient and staff education on medication maintenance;
  • Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, CARF Standards, and clinic policy and
  • procedure;
  • Maintains and expands knowledge base in accordance with the requirements necessary to maintain professional certification as a Physician Assistant; and,
  •  Perform other duties as assigned.
  •  Complies with organizational policies, procedures, performance improvement initiatives and maintains organizational and industry policies regarding confidentiality;
  • Communicates clearly and effectively to patients and their family members, guests and other members of the health care team;
  • Exhibits therapeutic rapport with patients maintaining professional boundaries, being respectful of personal space, giving patients direct attention while maintaining rational detachment;
  • Develops constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintains them over
  • time; and,
  • Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect and cooperation among team members.
