Overview

Madison West Comprehensive Treatment Center, a member of Acadia Healthcare, is a comprehensive outpatient substance abuse treatment facility serving patients afflicted with the disease of addiction. Our facility has an opening for a Part-Time Medical Assistant. We offer our patients an out-patient environment conducive to recovery from the disease of addiction, specifically to the opioid class of drugs. 

The Medical Assistant will be a certified person who is proficient in front and back office skills. He/She must be trained and/or experienced in treating persons with outpatient programs.

The Medical Assistant conducts self ethically and professionally at all times. Understands and adheres to organization, Federal and State regulations, including accreditation agency standards. He/She must be trained and/or experienced in taking of vital signs, venipuncture, injections and the collection of body specimens for analysis and any other procedure in which he/she has been trained, when ordered by the proper professionals. They must possess organizational skills and have the ability to work with the public. He/She must have a general working knowledge of operating an office in a medical setting.

Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant will work under the supervision of the Medical Director, the Clinic Director and the Nursing Supervisor.  The Medical Assistant may be responsible for receptionist duties that include telephone answering, recording messages, scheduling appointments and ordering supplies. The Medical Assistant may be responsible for the accountability system for receipts and cash control. He/She may process incoming and outgoing correspondence and must have a general working knowledge of the clinic. This person will assist in all areas in which he/she has received training when instructed to do so by a supervisor.

Job Requirements

  • Trained or experienced in taking vital signs, injections
  • Trained or experienced in the collection of body specimens
  • A general knowledge of working in a medical office setting
  • Excellent organizational skills

Work Schedule: every other Saturday as well as 2 other days during the week, from 5am-1:30pm.
