Position Summary:

Acadia Healthcare has a fast-paced growing IT environment where decisiveness, the ability to multi-task, and strong analytical and communication skills are essential. The Application Systems Analyst will utilize those skills in this position where the primary focus is to troubleshoot, document, and resolve customer reported issues with IT software and hardware specializing in support of the MedHost revenue-cycle/financial applications. In addition, this position will be responsible for managing other IT projects as assigned. Employees in this position will show outstanding teamwork, customer service skills, and have the ability to maintain excellent working relationships with other departments.  Good attendance and reliability is a must.

  • Troubleshoot, document, and resolve customer reported application system issues; primarily within the MedHost System. Timeliness and accuracy are key factors.
  • Maintain working knowledge of MedHost functionality changes/upgrades to better support and train customers.
  • Assist with testing and feedback of new MedHost releases to support Acadia Change Control Policies.
  • Communicate/escalate critical issues appropriately.
  • Independently shift and prioritize workload/projects effectively.
  • Assist facilities with implementation of other software applications as needed; such as electronic billing, electronic remittance posting, electronic agency placements, patient statement processing, etc.
  • Assist with various tasks related to acquisition activity as assigned such as: building MedHost libraries, calling the application setup programs, working with facility staff to build the various revenue-cycle application master files, provide MedHost revenue-cycle application training, and work with facility staff and contracted programmer to convert historical data into the MedHost System.
  • Provide hands-on MedHost training for Business Office, Utilization Review, Medical Records, Other departments as needed (Intake, Nursing, etc.)
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Two years of college or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Project management experience is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of the revenue cycle and hospital business office procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge in MedHost Revenue Cycle/Financial Applications.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions.
  • Exercises sound judgment in responding to inquiries; understands when to route inquiries to next level.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames. Ability to adapt to frequent priority changes.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external.
