Overview

At Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center we treat females exclusively-those who struggle with eating disorders, addiction, trauma, mood and co-occurring disorders. As part of a multidisciplinary treatment team and under the supervision of our Clinical Director Juliet Caceres, PsyD, you would serve as a Primary/Family Therapist.

Timberline Knolls is a residential treatment center located on 43 beautiful acres just outside Chicago, offering a nurturing environment of recovery for women ages 12 and older struggling to overcome eating disorders, substance abuse, mood disorders, trauma and co-occurring disorders. By serving with uncompromising care, relentless compassion and an unconditional joyful spirit, we help our residents help themselves in their recovery.

Responsibilities
  • Conducts initial family history and assessment and establishes family treatment goals.

  • Provides weekly family therapy to an assigned caseload of families.

  • Plans and offers weekly Family Dynamics Group.

  • Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure integrated team treatment and a therapeutic milieu.

  • Establishes therapeutic relationshipswith assigned residents to facilitate the treatment process.

  • Provides effective communication during the shift through activity such as:
    • Participates in report and utilizing information to provide quality care;
    • Communicates milieu and resident issues to the treatment team members during the shift and problem solves effectively;
    • Ensures compliance with confidentiality of resident information.
  • Contributes to the treatment plan and the implementation of care according to residential program policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for overseeing the implementation of modifications in the treatment plan.

  • Completes all required documentation according to policies and procedures and ensures that clinical notes document the resident’s progress in meeting their treatment goals.
  • Provides consultation to psycho-education groups to support the milieu treatment program.
  • Supports the Nursing Staff and Behavioral Health Specialists, identifying the precursors of potential crisis and unsafe resident behavior and intervening to de-escalate residents utilizing the least restrictive means of intervention.
  • Participates in community outreach and marketing activities for Timberline Knolls and promotes exceptional customer service throughout the program.
  • Facilitates active resident and family participation in the treatment process.
  • Reviews resident and staff satisfaction surveys and customer complaints and the results of monitoring standards. Initiates corrective action as indicated and monitors identified quality improvements.

Job Requirements

  • Illinois Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (or licensed within six months) with behavioral health treatment experience in hospital, therapeutic day school and/or residential settings.
  • Demonstrated skill in 12-Step and Family Systems Recovery Models with Adolescent and Young Adult Women Clients.
  • Demonstrated advanced level knowledge of group behavior and family dynamics;
  • Demonstrated advanced level knowledge of licensing and accreditation standards (JCAHO, Mental Health & Developmental Disabilities Code, DCFS)
