Your Job as an Intake Advisor:

The Intake Advisor plays a vital role in getting patients into treatment. You will be responsible for assisting prospective clients, their family members and clinical professionals in the process of seeking treatment for addiction issues or psychological illness.

Your Responsibilities as an Intake Advisor:

Triage calls by understanding callers' purpose, needs and urgency
Clearly explain the call process and ensure that caller gets to the right place ASAP
Monitor call queues to understand ASC activity and how to provide support
Search the CRM to determine if any inquiry exists for the caller
Engage caller when no Advisor is available and caller is not comfortable staying on hold
Make reliable warm transfers to ASC Advisors and program staff

Job Requirements

Your Skills and Qualifications as an Intake Advisor:

Ability to explain common types of treatment modalities and terms used in a treatment setting for substance abuse, mental health treatment, behavior modification and eating disorders (CBT, DBT, 12-Steps, social model, group process etc.).
Knowledge of and/or experience working with process addictions or addictive behaviors including gambling, cutting or other self-harm, compulsive eating or spending, gaming, sexual acting out, etc.
Familiarity with DSM-IV-TR and mental health diagnoses a plus.
BA/BS or equivalent work experience.
Ability to be empathetic and an active listener.
Clear and concise telephone skills.
2 years of clinical experience is preferred.
Previous experience working with the chemically dependent population, eating disorder clients or troubled teens is preferred.
Sales background a plus.
