We are currently seeking a Full time, Day/Evening Shift (7 a.m.-7 p.m.), Float Behavioral Health Associate.

The Float Behavioral Health Associate (BHA) assists patients as needed to ensure clinical success. Provides services under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.  The float BHA does not have an assigned unit or shift but rather is assigned based on the hospital's and patient’s needs. Assignment of duties are made by Nursing Leadership to reflect the hospital and patient acuity and to ensure continued patient care services across the organization.  Reflective of the active nature of the hospital, float BHA assignments may be shifted as needed throughout their shift, but all attempts will be made to minimize the number of times the assignment is changed.

Float BHA's are expected to maintain competency and ability to function in each of the following areas:

  • Inpatient Adult Services
  • Inpatient Child and Adolescent Services
  • Philadelphia Children’s Crisis Response Center
  • Admissions Department
  • Outpatient Services
  • Electroconvulsive Therapy

The position requires:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) along with at least 12 behavioral health college credits and 2 years experience in Human Services and/or Behavioral Health or a Bachelor's degree in a human services field, 1 year of experience is required.  Current CPR certification is required.
