At June 30, 2017, Acadia operated a network of 576 behavioral healthcare facilities with approximately 17,300 beds in 39 states, the United Kingdom and Puerto Rico. Acadia provides behavioral health and addiction services to its patients in a variety of settings, including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment centers, outpatient clinics and therapeutic school-based programs.

Responsibilities

Summary:

Provides support and guidance to facilities in the area of government reimbursement programs. Ensures facility compliance with cost report or other reporting requirements. Makes recommendations regarding ways to maximize or improve reimbursement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversees and manages the preparation of all facility and corporate cost reports. Selects vendor to prepare cost reports and works with facilities to ensure that data sent to vendor is accurate and timely.
  • Reviews all “Due to” and “Due From” balance sheet accounts monthly to ensure balances are appropriate. Makes recommendations for any items to records or corrections.
  • Reviews facility Medicare Bad Debt logs and ensures that facility is maintaining the log appropriately and that proper procedures are being followed to allow them to be included on the cost report.
  • Provides assistance to the facilities regarding ways to appropriately maximize reimbursement in government programs, particularly in the area of Medicaid add on payments such as DSH and UPL.
  • Communicates with state agencies on issues as needed.
  • Completes facility on site reviews as needed.
  • Ensures new or acquisition facilities implement appropriate procedures and are in compliance with policies.
  • Assists with training new CFO’s regarding policies, procedures and processes.
  • Maintains knowledge of healthcare industry trends and changes and ensures facilities are prepared and compliant.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Previous Behavioral healthcare experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the area of health care facility reimbursement or 10 years as a facility CFO.
  • Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid rules and regulations.
  • Able to travel at least 50%.
  • Effective and accurate oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with facility and corporate staff.

• PREFERRED: CPA
