Nursing Director

For over 30 years, Vantage Point has been the area’s only full-service mental health facility with a complete continuum of psychiatric and behavioral health services for children, adults, and seniors.

Treatment is under the medical direction and supervision of our staff psychiatrists and administered by nurses, social workers, therapists, recreational specialists, special education teachers and a team of other caring mental health professionals.

Position Summary:

This position is actively involved, at the executive level, in the leadership of the organization.  Organizing and administering areas of Patient Care Services to attain the hospital's objectives established by the Governing Body. Implementing standards of nursing practice reviewing and revising as necessary. Performing all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety. Planning and coordinating with the Chief Executive Officer, Governing body, medical staff, and Department Heads.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the provision of quality nursing services 24 hours a day, seven (7) days a week.
  • Ensures clear, concise and current written policies and procedures are available to assist the staff and minimize risk factors.
  • Recommends modifications, additions or deletions to nursing staffing plans to ensure reasonable hours and acceptable working conditions to provide optimal patient care coverage.
  • Initiates and participates in problem solving, policy forming conferences for patient care services. 
  • Participates in the Executive, Finance, Governing Body, medical staff, and Management  meetings.
  • Plans and coordinates with the Chief Executive Officer, utilizing the respective service managers for planning the budgeting requirements for staff, performance of work, supplies and equipment.
  • As department head, provides hands on leadership and management and demonstrates a commitment to educating, growing and mentoring staff  
  • The results of each department's performance improvement activities are reported to the respective medical staff committees and to the hospital wide performance improvement committee.
  • Is responsible for insuring regulatory compliance and ensures patients receive the highest level of quality services.

Job Requirements

  • MSN preferred, BSN required, and AR Nursing Licensure.
  • 5-10 years Psych. Hospital Experience.
  • ADON/DON Proven Experience.
