ABOUT US: Highland Ridge Hospital is an 83-bed psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment facility located in the heart of the Salt Lake Valley.  Highland Ridge is owned by Acadia Healthcare, a national leader in the behavioral healthcare industry.  We are the oldest specialty treatment program in the state of Utah and are fully accredited by the Joint Commission. 

JOB SUMMARY: Report to executive leadership and oversee the nursing function/department for an acute care facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Plan, direct and coordinate nursing services.
  • Direct, supervise and evaluate work activities of all nursing personnel.
  • Provide clinical leadership, strategic and long term goals for the nursing staff.
  • Determine, assign and assess performance objectives for nursing department.
  • Organize, coordinate, develop and review policies, procedures and nursing protocols to meet all regulatory, compliance and quality care standards.
  • Responsible for the quality of care, operational and financial efficiency of the nursing department.
  • Lead and develop the nursing staff within the facility, providing performance goals, feedback and development opportunities.
  • Develop and oversee function/departmental budget and reporting.
  • Direct and conduct recruitment, hiring and training of personnel. 
  • Provide direct care as needed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Master's degree required. Six or more years nursing experience, previous experience with the population of the facility preferred; with five or more years nursing management or administrative experience. 

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS: Current RN license.  First Aid, CPR, de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
