Job Description

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

Reporting to executive leadership, oversee the nursing function or department for a recovery facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Plan, direct, coordinate nursing services within the recovery facility.

Direct, supervise and evaluate work activities of all nursing personnel.

Provide clinical leadership, strategic and long term goals for the nursing staff.

Determine, assign, and assess performance objectives for nursing department.

Organize, coordinate, develop and review policies, procedures and nursing protocols within the facility to meet all regulatory, compliance and quality care standards.

Responsible for the quality of care, operational and financial efficiency of the nursing department.

Lead and develop the nursing staff within the facility, providing performance goals, feedback and development opportunities.

Set and carry out policies, goals and procedures for their function or department.

Evaluate the quality of care, staff's work and the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the function or department.

Develop and oversee function or departmental budget and reporting.

Direct and conduct recruitment, hiring and training of personnel.

Provide direct care as needed.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's degree required or Master's degree preferred. Six or more years nursing experience, previous experience with the population of the facility preferred; with five plus years nursing management or administrative experience.

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:

Current RN license within the state where facility is providing service. First Aid, CPR, de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
