Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement media relations strategies and establish, maintain, and grow media relations contacts.
  • Develop and implement strategies and tactics to enhance branding and public perception.
  • Manage internal/external public relations and marketing campaigns.
  • Manage media inquiries and interview requests.
  • Evaluate opportunities for partnerships on an ongoing basis.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and consistently update communications strategy based on those trends.
  • Attend selected conferences and events as needed.
  • Engage in high-level brainstorming sessions on improving current campaigns and creating new ones.
  • Train/inform team on/of new campaigns, goals, expectations, and best practices.
  • Execute digital and traditional campaign strategies.
  • Execute internal tasks to achieve goals and expectations set by senior-level management.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to implement all digital strategies: SEO, SEM, content, link building, etc.
  • Research suitable venues and contact external sources for facility brand mentions and link development.
  • Create original, quality content to maintain and increase positive brand reputation externally and promote open communication internally.
  • Create original, quality content to address negative media coverage.
  • Implement project tasks, meet timelines, and communicate effectively.
  • Provide project status updates with internal teams.
  • Continuously strive for quality improvement by identifying and understanding issues and opportunities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or marketing
  • 4+ years of experience working with public relations firms
  • 4+ years of experience working with media outreach platforms
  • 4+ years of experience working in account management and public relations strategy creation and execution
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail
  • Flexible and eager to identify, learn, and use new and changing technologies
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames
  • Capable of adapting to frequent priority changes
