Billing Team Lead

Position Summary:

Acts as a lead, coordinating the work of Billing Specialists. Resolves more complex inquiries and/or complaints escalated by the Billing Specialists. Performs all duties of the Billing Specialist job. Communicates company goals, safety practices, and deadlines to team. Motivates team members and assesses performance. Communicates concerns and policies among management and team members.

Responsibilities

• Provide training to new and existing staff members as instructed by director/manager. Use and follow company procedures in training.        Spot check work to be sure of accuracy, efficiency and uniformity. Re-train staff as often as needed.

• Reports staff’s progress, deficiencies and training needs to management. Run productivity reports monthly.

• Answers team member questions, helps with team member problems, and oversees team member work for quality and guideline              compliance.

• Communicates deadlines to Billing staff.

• Ensure staff complete all assigned tasks in a timely manner and that they have the resources and tools to perform their jobs. Advise          management immediately if they do not.

• Develops strategies to promote team member adherence to company regulations and performance goals.

• Provide coverage as needed to include performing staff’s work during their absences as assigned by management.

• Assists in areas of needs as assigned by management.

• Coordinates with manager/director to prioritize assignments based on current issues and business needs.

• Promotes teamwork, remaining available to assist staff as needed.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Claims follow-up or accounts receivable experience.
  • 3 or more years of healthcare billing/AR experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of job-related experience.
