Application Analyst- EHR

The Acadia IT team is looking for an experienced and motivated business analyst to join the EHR application team!

Acadia provides psychiatric and chemical dependency services to its patients in a variety of settings, including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, specialty treatment facilities, residential treatment centers, outpatient clinics and therapeutic school-based programs.

At March 31, 2019, Acadia operated a network of 593 behavioral healthcare facilities with approximately 18,100 beds in 40 states, the United Kingdom and Puerto Rico. Acadia provides behavioral health and addiction services to its patients in a variety of settings, including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, specialty treatment facilities, residential treatment centers and outpatient clinics.

  • Provide subject matter expertise in EHR application workflow, using clinical and business knowledge to elicit and document requirements for implementation projects with key project stakeholders, department SME’s and end users.
  • Facilitate workflow analysis sessions to document current state workflows and build future state workflows for all departments across a hospital that align with the company standard.
  • Drive resolution of end-user issues during UAT, training and go-live; work with all parties to prioritize issues, offer solutions, define delivery timelines and provide status updates. 
  • Lead and participate in the development, review and delivery of project deliverables identified in the project plan (i.e. process standardization, application design, application build, testing, training, conversion and post-conversion support, and optimization work efforts).
  • Coordinate onsite trainings for 300+ site staff across disciplines and onsite support for go-live.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functioning teams to identify critical issues, hardware, network and other equipment in practices when needed.
  • Travel to site for onsite business process discussions, training and to support go-live. 


  • Function as a liaison between the application, infrastructure team, and vendors on interface calls as needed.
  • Assists users in creating and maintaining downtime documentation and procedures to assure continuity of patient care and recovery of data in the event of a systems outage.
  • Assist with optimization project work following implementation, as needed and when directed by EMR Manager or Director.
  • Perform testing, documentation and validation of future EHR Upgrade versions and other related software. Act as a liaison between the clinical staff members and the vendor to implement version or release changes.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum, 2 years of experience within Healthcare IT, System/EMR/EHR Implementation or Support.
  • BS Management Information systems, Computer Science or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames.  Ability to adapt to frequent priority changes.
  • Knowledge and experience leading and executing end user UAT and internal QA testing of software applications a plus.
  • As required, works weekends for user support or project implementation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external.
  • Exercises sound judgment in responding to inquiries; understands when to route inquiries to next level.
  • Ability to work professionally with sensitive, proprietary data & information while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of office administration procedures with the ability to operate most standard office equipment.
