Position Summary:

This position is responsible for performing essential reporting and revenue cycle functions in the billing office; supervises all back-end processes. Performs the analysis and tracking of aging reports and addresses aging issues. Identifying and effectively solving billing operational problems. Analyze financial data and produce required reporting. Assumes back up for Director of Billing and management team. This position will require extensive experience with Medical Billing to include: government, commercial and third-party billing, medical reimbursements, collections, appeals, billing reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills
  • Develop and implement plans, policies and procedures for billing and collections operations
  • Identify problem areas or situations, evaluate root cause, and take appropriate action to resolve issues
  • Reconcile billings with accounts receivable ledger
  • Support internal and external audit process
  • Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve operations; decrease turnaround times; and work cooperatively and jointly with internal departments to provide quality seamless customer service
  • Represent department and the organization favorably and in accordance with established Company standards and associate attributes at all time
  • Remains abreast of changes in billing and coding regulations

  • Communicate clearly and effectively to person(s) receiving services and their family members, guests and other members of the health care team.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of five years' experience working in medical billing, preferably in third party payments, including understanding of the industry payment processing protocol.
  • 3-5 years of Management/Supervisory experience, required.
  • BA/BS in Accounting/Finance or related discipline preferred In-depth knowledge of billing or accounting software.
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations as relating to submission of Medicare and Insurance claims.
  • Knowledge of CPT medical coding.
