This position will be responsible for developingaggressive company-wide procurement strategies and tactics to generateindustry-leading effectiveness. Inaddition, this position will create programs, policies, procedures andinformation required for successful execution of procurement strategies acrossgeographic operating regions, multiple commodity types, and in a combination ofcentrally managed and geographically decentralized formats. Lastly, this position will be responsible forcreating a support organization to ensure ongoing success and continuousimprovement.


This position is also responsible for the developmentand management of an effective and efficient procurement organization. The VP,Procurement reports to the EVP of Finance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Understand behavioral health industry and Acadia’s goods and service requirements
  • Lead, develop and motivate workgroups inside and outside the department to execute the procurement policiesand programs
  • Responsible for providing strategicprocurement guidance and developing procedures to produce efficiencies andreduce expenses through strategic procurement sourcing
  • Develop and manage Acadia’s short and long term commodity strategies in support of the Acadia’s business plans
  • Align procurement strategy and tactics in-line with cost-reduction targets and product / services quality needs
  • Draft, negotiate and close nationalcontracts and develop tools for decentralized work groups outside thedepartment to draft, negotiate and close regional / local contracts.
  • Collaborate on strategic projectsto attain financial goals through creative and forward-thinking management.
  • Responsible for building andmanaging a procurement team to execute the above initiatives

Job Requirements

  • 10-12years procurement and contracting experience, including 3-5 years of seniorlevel responsibility
  • CPCM(Certified Professional Contracts Manager) certification preferred
  • 5-10years industry experience
  • Bachelor’sdegree, MBA, or MS preferred
  • 5years supply chain management experience
  • Minimumof 5 years management experience
