Job Description

The Supervisor RN serves as a consummate professional responsible impacting the overall operations, reputation, and atmosphere of Mount Carmel Behavioral Health through performing essential functions of compliance and direct patient care. The Supervisor RN will serve as a valued source of compassionate support to patients, staff and visitors. Functions include, but not limited to: 

  • Providing, delegating, coordinating and evaluating care of patient through the collaborative efforts of direct care professionals in accordance with the nursing process and standards of care/practice.
  • Functions as the lead RN for assigned shift overseeing Staff RN’s and Behavioral Health Associates.
  • Responsible for assignment of direct care professionals, including RN’s and Behavioral Health Associates and directing specific duties/tasks/projects.
  • Serves as mentor for direct care professionals and as administrative leadership at all times.
  • Coordinates in partnership with direct care professionals, clinical services and admissions teams all care rendered to patients and activities to ensure smooth and complete coordination.
  • Provides structure and maintains a therapeutic environment in collaboration with patients, visitors and other care providers.
  • Assists in development and execution of plan of care with specific and measurable goals unique to each patient’s needs.

Educational/Licensure/Experience Requirements:

  • Current/valid RN license in state of Ohio required.
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification training required. 
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing school required.
  • Three (3) or more years’ experience in nursing practice required.
  • Two (2) or more years’ experience in behavioral health preferred.
  • One (1) or more years’ experience in a supervisory or charge position preferred.
