Acadia is a provider of behavioral healthcare services. Your Impact

The Senior Vice President of Human Resources (SVP-HR) is responsible for developing, managing and executing a comprehensive HR plan that supports Acadia’s strategic, operational and financial objectives.  The SVP-HR reports directly to Acadia’s Executive Vice President and General Counsel.

The SVP-HR supports Acadia’s overall business objectives specifically in the areas of talent acquisition, training and development, retention, compensation, succession planning, culture, payroll, HR data and technology, HR policies and compliance, employee benefits and employee relations.



  • Establish and implement a comprehensive HR plan that effectively communicates and supports Acadia’s mission, culture and strategic vision.
  • Function as a strategic business advisor to senior management regarding key organizational and management issues.
  • Provide overall leadership and guidance to HR function by overseeing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training and leadership development, payroll, HR data and technology, compensation and benefits.
  • Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to ensure staffing of critical roles and to meet the human capital needs of Acadia and its facilities.
  • Oversee all human resources functions, including developing and implementing comprehensive compensation and benefit plans that are competitive and cost effective.
  • Specifically identify and project manage the implementation and operation of HR, payroll and recruiting initiatives at Acadia and its facilities.
  • Prepares and implements the annual budget for Acadia’s HR, payroll and recruiting departments.
  • Must be able to travel to meetings and work on computer for prolonged periods of time.

Job Requirements


  • Must possess thorough knowledge and demonstrated expertise in human resource, with 15+ years HR experience required and 5+ years in an executive HR position preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience in health care preferred.
  • Experience working at organization with multiple facilities/offices preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of labor and employment laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience as a business partner aligning human resource and business strategies with organizational capabilities.
  • Proven track record of strong leadership skills, high sense of urgency and proactive decision-making capabilities.
  • Strategic thinker, superior communicator and confident decision-maker.
  • BS/BA degree from an accredited university; advanced degree (MBA or MA) in HR or business administration preferred.
