Job Description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the overall functioning of the unit for the designated shift to include direct supervision of assigned staff. Serves as clinical resource and role model for other nursing staff, recognizing limitations and seeking assistance when appropriate. Assesses patients and identifies patient problems and/or needs based on assessment data. Utilizes assessment skills to recognize subtle or overt signs and symptom and communicates effectively with the physician regarding abnormal diagnostic data. Anticipates possible complications and initiates corrective actions. Effectively integrates the multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Facilitates discharge protocols. Initiates the multi-disciplinary treatment plan. Acts as a patient advocate. Understands basic pharmacology and safely administers and documents medication as ordered.

Associates Degree required or a Bachelors degree from an accredited nursing program preferred and currently licensed by Tennessee Board of Nurse Examiners or equivalent as a RN lawfully able to practice. 6 months of experience preferred but not required. New graduates are highly encouraged to apply
