Job Description

In this role you will be responsible for: 

  1. Provide twice daily nursing assessment of each patient upon arrival to the unit, and each shift thereafter, including occasional engagement with families or collateral supports to ensure accurate assessment.
  2. Implement all physician orders, including transcription of all verbal orders.
  3. Accurate administration of medications for patients with complex medical, neurologic and psychiatric presentations
  4. Communicate with the treatment team through participation in treatment team meeting daily.
  5. Engage in the interdisciplinary treatment planning process providing the addition of a nursing care plan to the patient’s robust plan of care.
  6. Foster a therapeutic milieu through the implementation of behavioral interventions as recommended by the broader treatment team across shifts.
  7. Provide oversight to all BHA staff, ensuring that activities are provided as scheduled, and therapeutic and behavioral plans are maintained in adherence to treatment team recommendations.
  8. Attend family meetings for each patient in order to promote communication with families and collateral supports, and to promote skill transfer into the home environment.
