Job Description

Structure House is a residentially-based program in Durham, NC for adult men and women that specializes in health behavior change, healthy weight management and eating concerns involving compulsive overeating, emotional eating, and binge eating. Our behaviorally-based treatment is provided by a multidisciplinary team of dietitians, registered nurses, licensed psychologists and social workers, and exercise specialists. Seeking a dedicated, experienced, enthusiastic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for employment 0-19 hours /week. This position is eligible for accrued paid time off and holiday pay. Minimum of an Associates Degree is required and candidates must be licensed as a Practical Nurse in NC. Also 5 years of healthcare experience in a healthcare setting, ideal candidates will have a background in health behavior change and working with individual who struggle with weight in a sensitive and effective manner.

The LPN position involves the following responsibilities: health assessments, collecting blood samples for routine lab testing, reviewing lab results with patients and providing follow-up as needed, general nursing care, assisting and communicating with consulting physicians, responding to health needs and medical emergencies, maintaining medical records and assisting with health-related data management, participation in team meetings. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed. A primary function of this position is drawing blood/blood draws. Blood draws are 50% + of this position.

The position is best suited for a team-oriented yet self-directed professional with excellent clinical skills and who is well-trained in current best nursing practices and drawing blood.
