Overview

Lakeview Behavioral Health System is searching for an experienced nurse leader to serve as Director of Nursing (DON). Lakeview is a 118-bed treatment center providing services to adults, geriatric, and adolescents on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. Lakeview is located just outside the perimeter on the north side of Atlanta in Norcross, Georgia.

The Director of Nursing (DON) is instrumental in creating an empowering and professional environment. The DON is a visionary for the department and how the department integrates into the entire organization. Responsibilities

  • The DON sets the vision for nursing practice in the delivery of safe, timely, efficient, equitable and patient centered care.
  • Regularly makes rounds and interacts with patients to ensure patient satisfaction ** This is a must for this role**
  • Maintains a current knowledge of healthcare industry trends and changes and ensures facility is prepared and compliant.
  • Works as a partner with the CEO and ensures that there is an open line of communication and positive interaction
  • Plan, direct and coordinate nurse services.
  • Direct, supervise and evaluate work activities of all nurse personnel.
  • Provide clinical leadership, strategic and long term goals for the nurse staff.
  • Determine, assign and assess performance objectives for the nurse department.
  • Organize, coordinate, develop and review policies, procedures and nursing protocols to meet all regulatory, compliance and quality care standards.
  • Responsible for the quality of care, operational and financial efficiency of the nursing department.
  • Lead and develop the nursing staff within the facility, providing performance goals, feedback and development opportunities.
  • Develop and oversee function/departmental budget and reporting.
  • Direct and conduct recruitment, hiring and training of personnel.
  • Provide direct care as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BNA) degree required; Masters Degree preferred.
  • Five or more years’ nursing experience required. 
  • Three or more years of nursing management or administration experience required.
  • Current state RN license is active and in good standing in Georgia
