Business Intelligence Analyst

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

BI Analysts work with operations and IT to determine business requirements, priorities, define key performance indicators (KPI), and develop BI and data warehouse (DW) strategy. This includes working with business and development teams to design, and document dashboards, alerts, and reports. This individual is accountable for providing leadership and independent initiatives in facilitating information gathering, structured documentation and presentation of findings to all levels of management. They conduct analyses of functional business processes and functional business requirements and participate in the development of business cases in the support of process changes and/or IT projects. The primary objective is to understand the business, and be able to translate requirements to an IT Development team.

Responsibilities

Will be actively involved in almost all project phases including:

  • Technical and Visualization Design, ETL, Development, Testing, Post Install configuration and performance measurements, Post install issue interfacing and resolution.
  • Can lead design and implementation of assigned projects, ensuring each phase of the process is done in a timely manner and can provide estimates for project completion.
  • Will translate business requirements to a development team
  • Will gather/interpret data and provide actionable insights to the business to improve critical metrics like operational efficiency or customer satisfaction
  • Will design, implement, and maintain projects using various business intelligence tools including SSRS and PowerBI.
  • Will Identify and implement process improvement/efficiencies in existing environment
  • Frequently required to work in a team to achieve work goals/objectives
  • Follow corporate data security and privacy requirements
  • Collaborate with business users, analyze business processes, and gather requirements
  • Create and maintain documentation including requirements, design and user manuals
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and strategies with technology solutions
  • Identify development needs in order to improve and streamline operations

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ Years of experience.
  • Solid understanding of business intelligence tools including SQL, SSRS, SSIS, PowerBI, PowerApps, modern ETL processes
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
