NOW HIRING!  Cascade Behavioral Hospital has great opportunity for an Assistant Director of Nursing.  If you want to take your nursing skills to the next level and step into a leadership role, this is the job for you! If you are already in a leadership position, this will be chance for you to be mentored for a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) role.   This position provides clinical and operational leadership for our inpatient units.  In consultation and coordination with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and Quality/Risk Director, you will have oversight and responsibility for creating, implementing and monitoring quality improvement initiatives for each area of assigned responsibility.


  • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practice, applicable rules and regulations and industry standards
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem resolution skills
  • Diplomacy, tact and a calm, positive approach are required
  • Clear verbal articulation
  • Data analysis
  • Ability to operate a clinical unit adequately to ensure excellence in patient care delivery and with fiscal and operational efficiency


  • Minimum two (2) years behavioral health nurse management leadership experience in similar or larger healthcare organization(s)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a budget and staff effectively in a like setting
  • Demonstrated favorable results in patient, staff and physician satisfaction through management experience in a behavioral health environment
  • Proficient in the use of manual and computer systems and database administration required to operationally manage and report on the clinical operations for area of responsibility
  • Experience and skill working in a union environment with a track record of maintaining positive employee relationships preferred
  • Interpersonal skills which align with Cascade’s s values and behavioral standards
  • Specific knowledge of behavioral health hospital regulations and accreditation requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing required
  • Master’s degree in nursing preferred


  • Current Washington state registered nursing license without restrictions
  • Healthcare Provider BLS
  • CPI
